Alan was British National Ice Dance Silver Medallist with partners Elizabeth Coates and Karen Quinn. Both partnerships represented Great Britain at both European and World Championships and competed in many international events throughout the world.
In 1989 Alan and Karen turn professional and achieved a silver medal in the World Professional Championships in Jaca, Spain.
In 1990 Alan and Karen joined internationally acclaimed company Holiday on ice and enjoyed an 18 month tour before joining the production of 'Captain Henry’s Gold’ at Alton Towers as principle skaters. They rejoined Holiday on ice as principles for their new production in 1992.
After many enjoyable years touring the world with Holiday on Ice Alan returned home to the UK in 1997 and joined the coaching staff at Basingstoke ice rink. During this time he wrote, choreographed and directed many of the annual Children’s Christmas Pantomimes and produced the Millennium Youth gala in Belfast.
Alan has appeared on TV in the Channel 4 mini-series "Upline" As a performer with partner Liz Coates, in the Culture Club video for "Mistake number 3" and, assisted by Karen Quinn, he Choreographed Robbie Williams for the award winning video for his number 1 hit "She’s the one".
Alan joined Cousins Entertainment Ltd in 2001 and along with Robin has grown the company into one of the UK’s largest suppliers of temporary ice rinks. As Ice operations manager Alan oversees installations from Winchester to Taiwan.
